Things to do in North Yorkshire

In my biased opinion, North Yorkshire is the best county in Britain. It has wonderful coastal towns, tons of castles, a rich history and plenty of days out to be enjoyed. There is something for everyone, no matter which part of North Yorkshire you are exploring, and is home to both the Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire Moors. Here visitors can spend a weekend, a week, or even longer holidays exploring this glorious county.

Skipton

This vibrant, historic town has plenty to do for all ages both right in the centre and in the surrounding areas.

Skipton Castle

One of the most intact castles in Britain, this is an excellent day out with kids on both rainy days and sunny days.

Skipton Canal Boat Cruise

With lots of choices for different cruises from 30 minutes to a full day, these cruises are certain to entertain the whole family.

Craven Museum

A fun museum with heaps of activities for children to get stuck into to help them learn about the history and geology of the local area.

Barley Hall

A medieval townhouse rediscovered in the 1980’s, this museum is located in York City Centre.

Whitby

Famous for being the inspiration behind Dracula, this coastal town has plenty to do for all the family.

Skipton Castle Woods Walk

A fairly easy walk with lots of sculptures and wildlife to spot. You can go a pram friendly route too.
